Corsair K68

Switches:

MX Red

About:

The Corsair K68 is an extremely spill proof rugged full sized keyboard. ITS PERFECT TO GAME ON WHILE DRINKING MOUTAIN DEW AND EATING CHEETOS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v__GMbOH9Nc&feature=youtu.be&t=317) (WARNING VIDEO IS PURE TECH GORE!!!). It's actually quite clever how corsair made the keyboard so rugged, basically the switches have a rubber coat on top of them protecting the actual electronic bits, sadly this affects the feel of the switch, making the switches on the keyboard feels a bit softer than most Cherry MX red keyboards. The keyboard has media keys. It features a red back lit. Beware that unlike most of corsair's other keyboards this one does not come with a wrist rest! Nor does it have USB pass through. Unlike corsair's RGB keyboards it only takes up 1 USB slot. Features a nice textured space bar. Has a fairly low number of 1 star reviews (only %3). One user had issues using the keyboard with Cent OS (but that's the fun bit!) Consider the K70 as well.

Pros:

  • Backlit while only taking up 1 port unlike most of corsairs keyboards
  • Built in Reversible wrist rest
  • EXTREMELY RUGGED
  • Most custmizable software for lighting.
  • Volume wheel
  • You'll never have to replace it after spilling water or beer on it.

Cons:

  • No media keys
  • Non standard bottom row
  • Some have found corsairs software to be buggy and meh
  • The feeling of the keys is softer than most other Cherry MX red boards

Additional Comments:

  • Consider going for a Ducky keyboard as they aim for the same market.
  • cool floating key design.
  • Corsair seemed to be including the reviews for different corsair keyboards on the same page so be aware of that, the negative QC issues of one model may have affected others, still does not seem to be really worth the risk
  • For corsair keyboards and the other gaming big names it was harder to find good video reviews from independent keyboard geeks and more from channel's like LinusTechTips so that limited the info I have
  • I really hope no one just leaves crumbs of food on there keyboards, at least push it away.
