HyperX Alloy FPS

Switches:

MX Red, MX Brown, MX Blue

About:

This is HyperX's mainstream full sized keyboard. The USB pass through can charge stuff but can't do data transfers. Some users reported LED failures. While HyperX are a new player to the gaming keyboard market their headset is often rated as the best gaming headset (in case you absolutely need a head set and don't just want to buy a better separate pair of headphones and a ModMic) The backlighting is red only which could be a deal breaker for some. Has a gaming light up mode were you can light up just the WASD keys and F1-F4. The keyboard has no scroll lock LED and uses 2 USB ports. Comes with a nice braided cable. Uses a nice metal back-plate. It comes with a carrying case, which is great if you still go out to LAN parties. This seems like the most reliable gaming keyboard brand based on the lower percent of 1 star reviews.

Pros:

  • Braided cable
  • Can use it to charge your phone
  • Comes with a carrying case

Cons:

  • Can't do data transfer
  • LEDs can fail.
  • No scroll lock LED
  • Only Red backlight
  • Uses 2 USB ports

Additional Comments:

  • For HyperX keyboards and the other gaming big names it was harder to find good video reviews from independent keyboard geeks and more from channel's like LinusTechTips so that limited the info I have
  • It should be noted that Hyperx are just Kingston's gaming branding and that their headset are just a re-brand of some headphone with a mic slapped on, so probably some other OEM makes these keyboards for HyperX.
