KBP V60

Switches:

Matias Linear

About:

The V60 is an interesting %60 keyboard Manufactured by KBParadise. Unlike most mechanical keyboards it mainly doesn't use neither Cherry MX switches nor Topre switches instead it uses Matias switches (Which cover all the bases in regards to switch type (Linear, Tactile, Clicky) and are basically the new breed of ALPS switches) in order to do this it uses ALPS key-cap mounts so it maybe tricky to find custom/new key-caps. The tactile and Linear version (and even the Clicky version since its sound dampened) are actually fairly good for office use. Features a detachable cable and a DIP switch. The LED backlit is available in 2 flavors, green/blue and blue/red, the LED profiles are stored on the keyboard itself. Works well with a mac (one of the extra key-caps it comes with should be the mac command key). Comes with a key-puller however some users complained that it's bad and may scratch the key-caps. A version with Cherry MX switches (blue, browns, clear, black, green and red) exists but is rare.

Pros:

  • Matias switches
  • Quite and good for office use

Cons:

  • Bad key-cap puller
  • Matias switches may not have the best QC track record
  • Non programmable.

Additional Comments:

  • Here's a legend of Matias's naming schemes Q= Matias Tactile Switch , -QL= Matias Quite Linear Switch and C= Matias Clicky Switch (sound dampened ))
